SWISS Technical Division – Changing an A330 wheel | SWISS

The rubber tyres on the undercarriage are exposed to brief but very strong forces when manoeuvring on the runway and during take-off and landing. That is why the tyres of our long-haul aircraft are changed after about 250 flights (approximately every six months). This routine task is performed reliably by the specialists of the SWISS Technical Division.

  • Amazing how the tire literally raises itself from the ground!
The jack is connected to the tire and its air pressure lifts the jack.
That's ingenious! We should have a car jack that can do that.
